We’re having our AGM at 1.30 on 22 July, followed by a public address, “Dementia and good end-of-life care”. All are welcome though only members can participate in the AGM. Venue is Nell Pascoe Room, Criterion Centre, between Criterion and Bathurst Sts, Hobart.
Dementia is a major and increasing health issue of our ageing population. The challenge of providing good end-of-life care with respect for the dignity of people with dementia is one of great interest to our guest speaker, Associate Professor Dr Jane Tolman. She will talk about her staged approach to providing this care and will be happy to answer questions.
Dr Tolman is a geriatrician with a special interest in person centred care, especially with reference to dementia and its impact on families and carers. She is Associate Professor of Aged Care at the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania where she is involved in both education and research.
We look forward to seeing members and friends next Tuesday.
