Great news from Quebec – dying with dignity legislation introduced

More good news this week from Canada.  A Bill has been introduced into the Quebec National Assembly in support of better end-of-life care, including the right to medically assisted dying. The tabling of the bill was met with a standing ovation.

If this legislation becomes law, Quebec will become the first Canadian jurisdiction to legalise medically assisted dying.  This draft legislation could become law by as early as the end of the calendar year.  The Bill has resulted from a major consultative exercise, review and excellent report by a Parliamentary Committee.
