July 2016 newsletter now available

Our July 2016 newsletter is now available here.  It includes important information about the AGM on 19 August to be followed by a public presentation about the new Tasmanian Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2016 by its proponents, Lara Giddings and Cassy O’Connor.  All welcome to the presentation, followed by discussion and afternoon tea.

The newsletter also includes information about the wonderful momentum to assisted dying laws overseas and in Australia.  A year ago we said the tide had turned – it’s now well and truly flowing in!  Which State will be first?

  1. I have been living with chronic pain for forty years – most of my life – yet I’m not allowed to choose to end that pain because the lawmakers of this country say that it’s illegal.

I hope that you will soon achieve a victory on behalf of all people with terminal or chronic illness who want to die with dignity.

    • Dear Martina, Apologies for not responding before now. We’ve been subject to lots of spam and I missed your message. I’m very sorry to hear about your situation and we will certainly continue our efforts for legislation for those with chronic conditions as well as terminal ones. Best wishes and hope for success before much longer. Margaret Sing
