Listen to the President of DwDTas, Margaret Sing

Margaret Sing has been the President of Dying with Dignity Tasmania for several years.  She worked closely with Lara Giddings and Nick McKim and their staff on the 2013 Proposal and the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill.  She has continued to be be very intensively involved in the research for and preparation of the amended 2016 Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill which is to be debated on 24 May.  She is a former senior public servant with over 40 years experience in policy and legislation.

She knows from her mother’s experience how prolonged and great the suffering can be for some people with cancer that has spread to their brain and their bones.

In this ad, Margaret reflects on the many, many conversations she has had with people about the issue, and the wish they express for a choice and the comfort of knowing there could be an option if they end up with intolerable and unrelievable suffering.
