URGENT Make your support known, Bill to be debated on Wednesday 16 October

If you haven’t already done so make House of Assembly MPs aware of your support for the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill.  It will be debated on Wednesday 16 October, from 4.00 pm we understand.  If you can’t get there you can watch or listen to a webcast from http://www.parliament.tas.gov.au/.

At this stage, no Liberal members of Parliament have indicated support for the Bill.  But it was reassuring to see on the ABC news last night that Will Hodgman may be interested in an amended Bill.  He said: “I don’t propose to support the legislation as it exists”.  We will be writing to him to offer any information and assistance we can to deal with his specific concerns and possible amendments.

  1. Has someone with a terminal illness why is humane or compassionate that another person should decide how I should suffer. This bill is important and humanic it needs to get through.
